The 3rd Annual Kickball Tournament was held May 22nd at the Twin Oaks Recreational Center in Marietta, Georgia. There
were nine teams competing this year for the title of “ Kickball Champion”. The competing teams this year were: Cobb County
CSO, Floyd County Juvenile Court, Cherokee County CSO, Douglas County CSO, Carroll County CSO, Bartow County CSO,
Paulding CSO, Paulding RYDC, and Marietta RYDC. The 3rd Annual Kickball Champion was Douglas County CSO. This years
Participation trophy was awarded to Paulding RYDC.
The process for winning the tournament included double elimination with all participants providing positive feedback after the
event. Special thanks go out to Captain Harris, Kevin Roberts, and Justin Sims for volunteering to umpire the games.
A big thank you to Tim Suddreth, District Director 3A, GJSA board members, Lorie Gann, Stephanie Owens and Bonnie
Grambling for their hard work grilling and manning concession stand, and Pamela Beck, photographer. Kevin Sligh with Floyd
County Juvenile Court won the 50/50 raffle.
A special thank you goes to our sponsors this year; Oasis Counseling, Hunt Counseling, Youth Villages and Fayette CSO. Not
only did Oasis Counseling consent to a sponsorship but representatives from their organization played with the Cobb CSO team.
Thank you to all the teams that participated in this years tournament. Without your participation, we would not have been able
to raise more than $1,000.00!
At the end of the tournament, teams were invited to meet at O’Charley’s for food, fun, and fellowship.
